Wayside Kids
Vacation Bible School is almost here!
Join us and be part of the 2017 Vacation Bible School (VBS)! This year VBS will be held at Community Presbyterian Church (CPC), 2800 Georgia St, Vallejo, on August 11th and 12th with a special presentation on Sunday August 13th. Help make this joint-venture between Wayside and CPC a success! We need all kinds of volunteers:
Youth mentors (help the youth be successful in their leadership role);
Child shepherds (help keep track of the flock);
Errand runners (buy/gather supplies – especially August 8, 9, 10);
Food service volunteers (help keep the crew happy);
Mission helpers (help with the service project);
Cheerleaders (come support the program by bringing your positive energy, laughter and prayers;
Decorators (paint, glue, build, tape, staple…); and of course;
Donations (food, supplies, money…).
Each of the following will be held at CPC:
July 13 – 7:00 p.m. Volunteer Meeting
August 8, 9, 10 Youth Leadership Training
August 11, 12 VBS (preschool–5th grade)
August 13 Sunday presentation

Vacation Bible School
Another VBS has come and gone. Many thanks to those who participated either by attending, or volunteering your time, talent and treasure. As previously mentioned, this was a collaborative effort by two churches; Wayside UMC and Community Presbyterian Church, Vallejo. The kids had a marvelous time and learned some great lessons.
In the Mission Quest Cave, VBS students explore ways how serving and helping others shows God’s love. “Faithful Forever” sculptures were sold in a silent auction. Proceeds went to Steffan Manor and Cooper schools.
Following VBS activities, a joint Sunday service held at Community Presbyterian Church. Next year’s VBS will be hosted by Wayside.
